A star studded catalogue has been assembled for the 2014 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast.

Highlighted by the Teeley Dispersal, the sale comprises 867 lots including an unprecedented number of stakes performed fillies and mares.

The catalogue for the National Broodmare Sale includes:

  • 867 lots comprising 731 broodmares, 129 race fillies and maiden mares, 7 stallion shares or nominations
  • 109 stakes winning fillies or mares
  • a further 82 stakes placed fillies or mares
  • 12 Group One winning mares
  • 27 race fillies or mares already having earned black type
  • the dams of 13 individual Group One winners
  • the dams of 60 individual stakes winners
  • five daughters of champion mare Shantha's Choice - the first time one of her progeny has been offered at auction

"This is without doubt one of the best ever catalogues for a broodmare sale I've seen," Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said.

"Whether it's a filly with a bright stakes future ahead or a mare who's produced a Group One winner and is carrying a full relation - this catalogue has it all."

Mares catalogued range from Group One winners Aqua d'Amore, Ellicorsam, Fashions Afield, Majestic Music and Miracles of Life to the dams of superstars including Appearance, Lankan Rupee and Zoustar. Saturday's stakes winner Angel of Mercy and Monday's barnstorming Melbourne juvenile winner Kalabek are also catalogued.

Covering sires represented include All Too Hard (7 lots), Denman (25), Encosta de Lago (2), Exceed and Excel (7), Fastnet Rock (9), Foxwedge (27), Helmet (11), High Chaparral (7), I Am Invincible (8), Pierro (13), Redoute's Choice (4), Sebring (23), Sepoy (18), Smart Missile (18), Snitzel (25), So You Think (14), Stratum (11), Street Cry (4) and Your Song (19).

There are six stallion shares catalogued - one to red hot sire Sebring, two to Slipper winning and producing sire Stratum and three to Group One winning juvenile Star Witness. Also going under the hammer is a nomination to star first season sire I Am Invincible.
