Winner of his last two starts in New Zealand, Beauty's Beast led at every call under Hugh Bowman to defeat Woodbine (Hussonet) by two lengths with the same margin to the Peter Snowden-trained Engagement (Street Cry) in third.
"Just before his previous start we thought he was going good enough to bring across here," winning trainer David Greene said.
"He's a gelding so you've got to have a crack at these races."
"He's got a great cruising speed and is lightly raced so we think he could come back next season a bigger and stronger horse."
"It's important for us Kiwi's to get a win on the board early in the day."
"He is a beautiful horse. He did exactly what you would expect form a horse bred at Windsor Park. We are used to drooling over their horses over there from the yearling sale and I'm sure they felt sorry enough for us and decided to give us one and they gave us a good one."
Reported as sold for $28,000 at the 2012 NZ Bloodstock Festival Yearling sale, Beauty's Beast races in the colours of his breeder, Nelson Schick's Windsor Park Stud.
He is the first foal of the Black Minnaloushe mare Black Beauty, a half-sister to Listed winner Grace Park (Danske) from the family of Group 1 winners Zola, So Casual and Kaaptan.
Black Beauty has a 2yo brother to Beauty's Beast, a yearling filly by Thorn park and a colt foal by Thewayyouare (USA).
She was bred back to Thewayyouare (USA) last spring.
