Wootton Bassett Leads Premier First Season Sires

The Inglis Premier Yearling Sale Book 1 featured strong representation by a wide range (21 in total) of first season sires and once again Coolmore shuttler Wootton Bassett (GB) made his presence felt.

 

A well proven Group I producing sire in the Northern Hemisphere, Wootoon Bassett has been warmly received here in Australia this year and his top seller in Melbourne was sold by Yarraman Park.

$320,000 Wootton Bassett (GB) filly from Chequerboard.

They offered the first foal of stakes-winning Fastnet Rock mare Chequerboard and she was snapped up by Winning Stud / Satomi Oka Bloodstock for $320,000.

Wootton Bassett fans will be pleased to note he has 27 yearlings for Inglis Easter and they are the cream of the crop!

$270,000 Farnan fiily from More Radiant.

Kia Ora based Golden Slipper winner Farnan has been popular at all the sales this year and had seven yearlings sell at an average $180,000 with his top seller a filly from More Radiant that made $270,000 for Rosemont Stud when bought by McEvoy Mitchell Racing / Belmont Bloodstock Agency.

 

$310,000 Fierce Impact (Jpn) colt from Tinga (IRE).

Leneva Park’s Fierce Impact (Jpn) made a real statement with the triple Group I winning son of Deep Impact producing a colt from well related Galileo mare Tinga (IRE) that made $310,000. Offered by Newhaven Park, he comes from an elite European female family and was bought by Lindsay Park Racing.

 

$400,000 Ole Kirk colt from Kibibi.

Vinery Stud’s Ole Kirk had the single best result for a first season sire with his colt from well bred Exceed and Excel mare  Kibibi providing a terrific result for South Australian vendors Willow Grove Stud. The second foal of a sister to stakes-winner Athelric, he was bought by B & J Racing for $400,000.

 

$300,000 King's Legacy colt from Anchor Bid.

Coolmore based Redoute’s Choice son King’s Legacy  continues to impress with eight yearlings selling for up to $300,000. Top seller for King’s Legacy was the Shadow Hill Thoroughbreds consigned colt from stakes-placed High Chaparral mare Anchor Bid that was bred by GSA Bloodstock and bought by McEvoy Mitchell Racing / Belmont Bloodstock Agency for $300,000.

 

$220,000 Hanseatic colt from Darcibelle.

Rosemont Stud’s fast and precocious Street Boss (USA) son Hanseatic had yearlings purchased by leading trainers Peter Moody and Lindsay Park Racing with Griffiths de Kock Racing / Peter Ford Thoroughbreds purchasing his top selling youngster for $220,000. The half-brother to Group placed filly Unstoppabelle from Darcibelle was offered by Rosemont Stud.
