A fast and precocious juvenile that won his debut in September in the famed Te Akau tangerine silks, Cool Aza Beel ended his career as the dominant two year-old of his generation with wins in the Karaka Million and Group I Sistema Stakes.

Given the success of Cool Aza Beel it was no surprise to see David Ellis pay $340,000 at K1 last year for his full brother and Cool ‘n’ Fast is cut from the same cloth scoring an impressive debut win at Pukekohe on Boxing Day that has seen him installed as the top choice for this year’s Karaka Million.

A Savabeel that can sprint is a formidable force as we have seen in Australia with $10.7million earner I Wish I Win, so there will be tremendous interest in the first offspring of Cool Aza Beel, who has 19 entries for Magic Millions, the majority to be offered by Newhaven Park with highlights below:

Second foal of a winning half-sister by Written Tycoon to stakes-winner Testashadow and her first foal Mighty Judd, is now a winner at Ipswich since the catalogue went to print. This is also the family of dual Group I winning sprinter and champion sire Zoustar.

 

Lot 599 Filly Cool Aza Beel x Down the Hatch, by Flying Spur

Half-sister to Simply Xtravagant, who won five country races in succession in 2023 and is from a winning half-sister to the dam of Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas winner Super Seth and Group II winning $1.5million earner Wild Planet. Bred on similar Savabeel x Flying Spur nick that has 100% success – 24 winners from 24 runners – also 20% SW to runner and has produced G1 winners Shillelagh and The Chosen One.
