Super One Mare Wins $50,000 Forbes Cup

Tara Madgwick - Sunday July 31

New to Lincoln Farm this spring, Super One sired another super winner on Sunday with the Barbara Joseph / Jones training partnership taking out the $50,000 Forbes Cup with consistent mare One Aye, who is now qualified for The Big Dance.

The four year-old mare started favourite on the strength of her good last start third in a Benchmark 78 race at Rosehill and surged home late to win by a neck.

In winning the Forbes Cup, One Aye is now qualified for the $2million ATC The Big Dance (1600m) to be run at Randwick on November 1.

A $50,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Ashleigh Thoroughbreds draft for Jones Joseph Racing, One Aye has the overall record of five wins and six placings from 17 starts with prizemoney topping $171,000.

One Aye was a savvy $50,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainers.

Bred by Senga Bissett and Ivan Woodford-Smith, she is one of three winners from Flying Spur mare Flying First Class, a winning sister to the dam of Group II winner Informant.

Super One stands at Lincoln Farm this spring at a fee of $16,500.
