Caviar's full brother Moshe sired a debut winner at Swan Hill on Monday with a
stylish victory for Flying Batya.
Trained at Echuca by Gwenda Johnstone, Flying Batya was unfancied by punters
but overcame an outside gate to race up on the pace and forge clear for a half
length win in the 980 metre maiden.
She defeated Benfica filly She's Official with another Moshe, Aluf in third
place.
Bred by her trainer, Flying Batya is the first winner for minor winning Flying
Spur mare Notrebelle.
Flying Batya is the fourth winner for Moshe, who has sired stakes-winner Moskhi
as well as two stakes placegetters in Moshway and El Venetian.
Moshe is one of only four first season sires to sire an Australian
stakes-winner this season, the others being NZ based Pour Moi (IRE) and the Darley
duo Helmet and Poet's Voice (GB).
Standing at Sun Stud, Moshe has had a fee increase this year rising to $11,000
from $8,800.
