Manager Required for Fairhill Farm

Tara Madgwick - Sunday June 26
Mike and Debbie O'Donnell have built a very successful bloodstock enterprise in Fairhill Farm and are now seeking an experienced bloodstock/farm manager.

A proven source of Group I winners having bred/ raised horses such as Good Project, Choice Bro and Glorious Days, Fairhill Farm is a boutique broodmare farm and commercial thoroughbred vendor.

Fairhill Farm run around 30/35 weanlings with some being sold as weanlings and around 15/20 sold as yearlings.

The farm has developed a fine reputation for producing a quality product and a considerable part of the business revolves around raising, preparing and selling these youngsters at sales such as Magic Millions, Inglis Classic, Premier and Easter as well as Ready to Race sales.

"Our new manager will have had a sound background in the thoroughbred industry," said Mike O'Donnell.

"They will have a knowledge of pasture management, farm maintenance, reproduction, yearling and weanling sales preparation. They may have had experience with working to a budget, including a sales and expenses budget.

"The position is a hands on one as the farm is boutique in nature with 40/50 mares in the last year and we do our own foaling and walk-ons."

Situated in the Lower Hunter Valley just 90 minutes from the heart of Sydney, Fairhill Farm is a beautiful well maintained property with mains water and additional dams as well as full post and rail fencing with electric.

The farm is within easy reach of the major Hunter Valley stallion farms being 60 minutes from Coolmore and 90 minutes from Darley.
