Darley's
triple Group I winning Caulfield Guineas winner Helmet might be winless as a
sire in Australia, but he's having no trouble siring winners in the Northern
Hemisphere posting his fourth overnight with an easy victory at Bath for Kreb's
Cycle.
Second on debut at the same venue two weeks ago on soft ground, the Richard
Hannon trained colt took the five furlong event by a length as favourite
appreciating the firmer footing.
An 85,000 euro purchase from the Goffs Sale, Kreb's Cycle is the first winner for
La Noe, a Nayef daughter of stakes-winner Snow Gretel.
With four winners on the board, Helmet is the leading first season sire for
GB/Ireland by winners.
Helmet has had his service fee reduced at Darley Victoria this year from
$33,000 to $16,500.
