2016 Golden Slipper order of entry – February 8

Tom Walter - Tuesday February 9

The Mick Price-trained Extreme Choice moved into the top 10 on the Golden Slipper order of entry following his win in the Group III Chairman's Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield last Saturday.

Extreme Choice had won the Inglis Nursery (1000m) on debut in December but because the race was a sales-restricted contest, none of the prizemoney is counted towards his ranking in the Golden Slipper order of entry.

So the $90,000 he banked for winning the Chairman's Stakes could prove an important result in the promising colt's career.

The son of Not A Single Doubt is expected to contest the Group I Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) on February 27 before a decision is made on a Golden Slipper start.

Two other juvenile races were held between New South Wales and Victoria over the weekend however both races were Inglis sales-restricted so the winners were unable to improve their Golden Slipper position.

Twist Tops and Valliano won the Inglis Classic and Inglis Premier respectively but remain outside the top 30 ranked two-year-olds.

This weekend's metropolitan racing will feature the $125,000 Listed Lonhro Plate (1100m) at Randwick as well as the male and female versions of the $200,000 Blue Diamond Preludes (1100m) at Caulfield.
