Bel
Esprit three year-old Keen Array caught our eye for a Breednet 'One to Watch' when
he won by seven lengths at Geelong last month and he repeated the performance
at Pakenham on Thursday, this time winning by eight!.
Sent out at Black Caviar odds, he gave nothing else a chance when bolting clear
to win the 1000 metre Benchmark 64 against older rivals in a breeze.
It was the fourth start for the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig trained Keen
Array, but his first since being spelled and gelded and he's obviously a
different horse now, so will look to target a race in town for his next assignment.
Passed in at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Keen Array runs for a syndicate
including David Hayes and stable clients and is the second winner for Moorea, a
winning Zabeel half-sister to Group I HK International Mile winner The Duke.
Bel Esprit has been switched to Queensland this year by Eliza Park
International and is standing at a fee of $18,700.
