Two weeks after capturing the Group III Vain Stakes, Triple
Crown Syndication's Gold Symphony continued on his winning way with another
thoroughly professional display in Saturday's Group III HDF McNeil Stakes (1200m).
Given a charmed run by Glenn Boss, the Peter Moody-trained
colt held the challenge of Ready For Victory, who had a chequered passage in
the straight, by a head, with Godolphin's New Approach (IRE) gelding Demonstrate
coming from the tail of the field to finish a half-length back in third. (photo Grant Courtney).
With three wins and a second from four starts, Gold Symphony becomes the poster boy for Reward For Effort with earnings of $225,700.
"From the time I got on him I felt he was high quality
colt," Boss told racing.com.
"There was no fluke about his last win
"Having the benefit of riding him work from his last run to
this it's amazing how he is coming on as an individual he's getting bigger,
stronger and taking it all in his stride and is going in the right direction.
"He's got a mile
written all over him."
A $100,000 purchase by Triple Crown Syndications from the
draft of Grange Thoroughbreds at the 2014 Inglis Premier Yearling sale, Gold
Symphony is the first foal of the unraced Stravinsky mare Tzaress a half-sister
to Group III AJC Sweet Embrace winner Stripper (Danehill Dancer) who was second
to Duporth in the 2008 Golden Rose.
Tzaress has been covered by the Group I Blue Diamond Stakes winner Reward For Effort in her first
four seasons at stud.
She has a 2yo filly and a yearling colt and was covered by
the son of Exceed And Excel last season.
Reward For Effort's service fee at Chatswood Stud this spring remains unchanged at $11,000.
