Hinchinbrook Winner Gives Gollan the Record

Tara Madgwick - Sunday July 26
Group I AJC Flight Stakes winner Danglissa is the dam of smart Hinchinbrook two year-old Danglissa Girl, who gave popular trainer Tony Gollan the record for greatest number of Brisbane metro winners in a season when she scored at Doomben on Sunday.

HinchinbrookPlaced at her three previous runs, Danglissa Girl was sent out favourite and forged clear to win the 1200 metre juvenile maiden by a length and a half.

Tony Gollan equalled the record number of Brisbane metro winners in a season set previously at 78 by Bruce McLachlan in 1987/1988 when I Am Invincible two year-old Most Important won at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday and now it's another Yarraman Park based sire that has given him the record outright.

Danglissa Girl was an $80,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase from the Patinack Farm draft and is the fourth winner from six foals to race for Danglissa, who is also the grand-dam of stakes-winner Euryale.

Danglissa Girl is the eighth winner for Hinchinbrook, who will finish as the Champion Australian First Season Sire by earnings for this season.

A three-quarter brother by Fastnet Rock to Snitzel, Hinchinbrook will cover a full book at Yarraman Park this spring at a fee of $16,500.
