The 2015 August Yearling Sale will take place in Deauville from Saturday 15 to Monday 17 August and will feature siblings to imported Aussie Group I stars Contributer and Pornichet.

The sale is centred around the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-Le-Buffard-Jacques Le Marois weekend, featuring the best race in the world over a mile.

This first rendezvous of the year dedicated to yearlings will be followed on Tuesday 18 August by the third renewal of the v.2 Yearling Sale, which will have a very distinctive catalogue of 137 yearlings selected for their precocious conformation and pedigree. The catalogue for the August Yearling Sale, which is available at www.arqana.com, includes 374 hand-picked yearlings which will go through the ring according to the following programme:

Part 1 regroups the Saturday and Sunday sessions with 94 lots catalogued each day and with each session beginning at 5pm.
Part 2,which is made up of 186 lots will begin on Monday at 1pm.

The Deauville Yearling Sales are an excellent source of winners at the highest level. In the last four years, yearlings which have paraded through the Elie de Brignac sales complex have won no less than 29 Group 1 races including six Classic races. Chief among these are the dual Classic winner AVENIR CERTAIN, the exceptional THE GREY GATSBY, who defeated Australia in the Irish Champion Stakes (Gr.1) and was a recent second in the Prince of Wales's Stakes (Gr.1) as well as the champion racemare TREVE, who is bidding for an historic treble in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr.1).

The first FRANKEL yearlings on offer this summer at Deauville

A major attraction of this sale, the August Yearling Sale, will be the very first yearlings by the phenomenal FRANKEL to be available for sale. Having gone to stud in 2013, the son of Galileo was unbeaten in 14 starts including no less than 10 at Group 1 level.

Six yearlings from his first crop feature in Part 1 of the catalogue including:

Lot 159, presented by the Haras des Capucines, is a half sister to six time Group 1 winner STACELITA.
Lot 165 , presented by the Haras du Mézeray, is a half brother to two Group winners including NAAQOOS, winner of the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère (Gr.1).

Écurie des Monceaux will offer four Frankel foals. Lot 127 is a half sister to Group 3 winner PACIFIQUE, and to PRUDENZIA, dam of Classic winner CHICQUITA. Lot 41 is a colt out of the Sun Chariot Stakes winner DANCEABOUT, and also a half-brother to the Listed winner RAINBOW DANCING. Lot 117 is a son of dual Group 3 winner NOELANI, herself a sister to the speedy NAMID, and lot 125 , who is closely related to the Group 1 winners SAGAMIX and SAGACITY.

Redoute's ChoiceThe catalogue is particularly rich in yearlings by stallions which are hard to find at public auction such as DUBAWI, GALILEO and SHAMARDAL, as well as yearlings by all the most proven stallion such as CAPE CROSS, DALAKHANI, DANEHILL DANCER, DUTCH ART, EXCEED AND EXCEL, HIGH CHAPARRAL, HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, LAWMAN, MAKFI, MASTERCRAFTSMAN, NEW APPROACH, OASIS DREAM, PIVOTAL, ROCK OF GIBRALTAR, SEA THE STARS, TEOFILO and ZAMINDAR.

The first yearlings by Australian leading sire REDOUTE'S CHOICE, from his first year standing at the Haras de Bonneval, will spark strong interest from both French and international buyers.

The best stallion son of Danehill was crowned champion sire in Australia for the third time at the end of the 2013/2014 season. He is the sire of 27 Group 1 winners to date including champion sprinter Lankan Rupee, and is already proving an excellent sire of sires. REDOUTE'S CHOICE has only has a handful of runners to date in Europe but three of those have already managed to acquire black type such as ELZAAM, who won a Listed race and finished second in the Coventry Stakes (Gr.2), ahead of the excellent ZOFFANY.

This session is also teaming with yearlings by young exciting young stallions such as EXCELEBRATION, HELMET, LOPE DE VEGA, NATHANIEL, SEPOY, RIP VAN WINKLE, SO YOU THINK and ZOFFANY, who had three winners at Royal Ascot this year. The three very popular French stallions KENDARGENT, LE HAVRE and SIYOUNI will also be well represented.

Exceptional yearlings from some of the best European families

Standouts among the most attractive pedigrees in the catalogue include:

Lot 176 , presented by the Haras du Quesnay, is that none other than a full sister to champion mare TREVE.
Hailing from the Haras d'Etreham, which will consign the largest draft with 33 yearlings, lot 18 is a colt by Redoute's Choice out of the Prix Saint-Alary winner (Gr.1) VADAWINA, and lot 59 is a daughter of Galileo and the first foal out of Fire Lily, winner of three Group 3 races and placed several times at Group 1 level.

Ecurie des Monceaux will send out a draft of 31 yearlings including lot 119 , a son of Dubawi and the first foal out of PACIFIQUE, who won the Prix de Lutèce (Gr.3) and is closely related to the Classic winner CHICQUITA; lot 142 , a Galileo half brother to the Prix Hocquart (Gr.2) winner FREE PORT LUX, and therefore out of the Beverly D. Stakes (Gr.1) winner ROYAL HIGHNESS; lot 175, an Invincible Spirit half brother to Group 1 winners MOST IMPROVED and ECTOT; and lot 85 , a Myboycharlie half brother to triple Group 1 winner CHARM SPIRIT.

Coulonces Consignment will also offer 31 yearlings including lot 171 , a daughter of Galileo and the Listed winning and Group 2 placed THAI HAKU, out of whom she is the second foal.

The Haras des Capucines will go to Deauville with 30 yearlings, which include lot 7, a Galileo half sister to the US Grade 1 winner ZAGORA.

The Haras du Cadran will be represented by 25 yearlings, including lot 178 , a half-sister to the Prix Vanteaux winner (Gr.3) TROIS LUNES by the young stallion Excelebration.

La Motteraye Consignment will send out a contingent of 20 yearlings including lot 136 , an Oasis Dream filly, who is the second foal out of a sister to Classic winner TIN HORSE.

The Haras du Mézeray will also send 20 yearlings through the ring including lot 11 , a New Approach half-brother to Group winners DEMOCRATE and AIGUE MARINE and lot 17 , a son of Shamardal and ASTROLOGIE, dual Listed winner and Group 3 placed.

ContributerThe Haras de la Reboursière et de Montaigu will present 14 yearlings including lot 131, a full brother to PRINCE GIBRALTAR, winner of the Critérium de Saint-Cloud (Gr.1) and lot 163 , a Canford Cliffs half brother to FRENCH FIFTEEN winner of the Critérium International (Gr.1) and second in the 2000 Guineas (Gr.1) beaten just a nose by Coolmore champion Camelot.

13 yearlings will be offered for sale under the Haras de Grandcamp banner, including lot 143, an Invincible Spirit half brother to champion 2 year old DABIRSIM, who won the Prix Morny (Gr.1) and Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère (Gr.1).

Among the 13 representatives of the Haras de la Louvière standout lots include lot 151 , a full brother to CONTRIBUTER (High Chaparral), now the winner of two Group 1s in Australia.

The Haras de Beauvoir will send out a particularly strong draft of 7 yearlings this year including lot 68 , a daughter of the promising Zoffany from the «Schlenderhan» family of recent Group winner GUARDINI and lot 145 , a son of Excelebration closely related to Prix d'Ispahan (Gr.1) winner and successful sire SAGEBURG.

PornichetThe Haras de Colleville will present five of the best yearlings by in-house stallion Kendargent such as lot 126, a half brother to Classic horses STYLE VENDOME and PRESTIGE VENDOME.

The Haras d'Omméel's draft will include a Siyouni half sister to PORNICHET ( lot 129 ), who has followed up his third place in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (Gr.1) with a successful career in Australia where he recently landed the Doomben Cup (Gr.1).

A regular at the Deauville Sales, English stud Newsells Park Stud will send out 12 yearlings including lot 54 , a Galileo filly out of the Classic winner ENORA.

The Irish stud Ballylinch Stud will be represented by 6 yearlings including lot 4 , a son of Lawman and the first offspring out of WIZZ KID, winner of the Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp (Gr.1).

Tinakill House Stud will go to Deauville with three of its best yearlings including lot 153 , a half-sister by the highly promising Nathaniel to SHAMDINAN, winner of the Secretariat Stakes (Gr.1) and to Group 2 winner SHAWARDI.
