Zebedee 2YO Double

Media Release - Tuesday April 28
Shuttling to Cornerstone Stud this spring, 2014 European Champion Freshman Sire ZEBEDEE (by Invincible Spirit) posted two further first-start two-year-old winners in Europe on Monday.

Two-year-old colt Silver Wings was the first to oblige in the British Stallion Farms Maiden Stakes over 1000m at Windsor. Trained by David Evans, he jumped out and made all before being pushed out to beat some well-bred rivals by 2 ΒΌ lengths.

ZebedeeHaving held a stakes race entry without accepting prior to this run, clearly Silver Wings is being held in high regard. The future, whether that includes a trip to Royal Ascot or not, looks to be a very bright one for this speedster.

Doubling Zebedee's number of two-year-old winners for the day was a filly named Madam Thunder, his fourth two-year-old winner in total for the year to date from eleven runners.

Jumping out the barriers at Naas in the 1000m Irish Stallion Farms Fillies Maiden race and settled towards the rear, Madam Thunder came storming through on the rail past a field that included a number of juveniles with future Group 1 entries.

Speaking after Madam Thunder's comfortable success, trainer Darren Bunyan said, "I didn't expect her to get her head in front as she's a proper good ground filly. On that performance she could be anything".

"She will come back here on June 1st for the six-furlong Listed race. Hopefully it will be Ascot after that if she keeps going the right way. She's a very smart filly," Bunyan added.

Leading the European Second-Season Sire's list with 15 winners to date, two more than his nearest rival Lope De Vega, Zebedee is also the overall leading sire of two-year-olds in Europe for 2015.

Zebedee will stand the 2015 breeding season at Cornerstone Stud in South Australia at a fee of $17,600 inc. GST.
