Winner of the Listed Winter Stakes (1400m) in July last year, the son of Lonhro placed three times at Group III level this season before his breakthrough.
After missing the start, James McDonald weaved between runners in the home straight to claim victory in the final stride from Target In Sight (Nadeem) with Hot Snitzel (Snitzel) a short-neck back in third. (photos Lisa Grimm)
"The key to this track at Rosehill is if you end up back in the field you can always cut the corner as James did," O'Shea said.
"He did it on Contributer the other day
"The track is a lovely fair track at the moment and the horse tends to appreciate racing here.
"When you reflect back at the horses he was racing against, Lucky Hussler won a Group 1 last night, Fast 'N' Rocking ran out of his skin in both the Oakleigh Plate and The Galaxy, so it might have just been a testament to the quality of the horses he was racing."
"The Hallmark in three weeks at Randwick looks the next logical step."
"The Stradbroke is the race I have in mind, the only problem is getting him there."
Bred by Darley, Generalife is out of stakes-placed Redoute's Choice mare Albaicin who is a half-sister to Listed winner Celebrity Girl and Lonhro's recent G3-placed daughter Lady Lakshmi.
Celebrity Girl was in the news earlier in the year when her first foal, a filly by Sepoy, was the third highest priced lot at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale when China Horse Club went to $850,000.
Albaicin has an unraced 2yo colt Bernardini (USA) named Cartagena and a yearling filly by Street Cry (IRE) named Banuelo.
Sold by Darley to Steve Brem as agent for Burnewang North Pastoral at last year's Easter Broodmare sale for $100,000, Albaicin has a weanling filly by Denman and was bred back to Lope De Vega (IRE) last spring.
