Ill-fated
Captain Sonador was represented by a metropolitan winner at Doomben on Saturday
when two year-old filly Dream Finnish s cored easily at Doomben.
A last start winner at Ipswich, the Mick Nolan trained filly scored by a length
and a quarter over 1350 metres and has won two of three starts earning over
$62,000 in prizemoney.
Dream Finnish was a $16,000 Magic Millions March Sale purchase for her trainer
from the draft of Raheen Stud, who enjoyed strong results at the recent 2015
Magic Millions March Yearling Sale with the second last crop of yearlings by Shamardal
(USA) stallion Captain Sonador.
A half-sister to handy Brisbane sprinter Kiss Me Deadly, Dream Finnish is from
Kililing, an unraced half-sister to stakes-winner Banner Headline.
She is one of three winners and three place-getters for Captain Sonador, who
died prematurely in 2014.
