Blue
Diamond winner Reward for Effort posted his fifth winner when two year old
filly Petite's Reward got the cash at Sandown on Wednesday for the Brendan
McCarthy stable.
An unlucky third on debut at Moonee Valley on March 8, Petite's Reward made
amends when scoring a determined long neck win over 900 metres.
Retained to race by her breeder, Petite's Reward is the first winner for
metropolitan winning Brief Truce (USA) mare Petite Briefs, who comes from the
family of Group I winners Spartacus and Wonderful World.
Petite's Reward is another smart winner for Chatswood Stud based Reward for
Effort, who is off to a promising start to his stud career and covered 167
mares last spring at a fee of $11,000.
