The
Ingham family have enjoyed a winning week with Wednesday success for Sadler's
Lake and Gossamer followed by a tenacious win for blue-blooded Encosta de Lago
mare Kristy Lee at Rosehill on Saturday.
The Chris Waller trained five year-old surged late to snatch a narrow win in
the 1200 metre mares event, taking her overall record to six wins and 12
placings from 36 starts with prizemoney topping $400,000.
Kristy Lee was a $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Ingham Racing from the Coolmore draft and
will make into a lovely broodmare when her racing days are done.
Bred by Michael Crismale's Matrix Bloodstock, she is one of three winners from
top class Group II winner Shania Dane, a full sister to Hong Kong Group I
winner Scintillation.
Shania Dane has a yearling filly from the first crop of champion racehorse So
You Think entered for the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
She also has this lovely colt foal by Golden Slipper winner Pierro born this
spring.
Encosta de Lago made it a two state metropolitan double when progressive stayer
De Little Engine scored a powerful win at Flemington over 2450 metres for the
Danny O'Brien stable.
De Little Engine has now won his past three starts taking his overall record to
five wins and five seconds from 18 starts with prizemoney topping $180,000 and
will now head to the Listed VRC Bagot Handicap on New Year's Day.
Bred by SF Bloodstock, De Little Engine was sold at the 2011 Inglis Australian
Select Weanling Sale from the Amarina Farm draft for $47,500 and runs for a
syndicate of eight owners.
De Little Engine is the first winner for Group I VRC Oaks winner Arapaho Miss,
who was also sold in 2011, Baramul Stud purchasing her for $650,000 at the
Magic Millions National Sale.
Encosta de Lago has half a dozen entries for the 2015 Magic Millions.
