Two blue blooded colts from the same stable filled the quinella in the 1300 metre maiden at Geelong on Tuesday, the winner a sibling to three stakes-winners from an acclaimed blue hen.

Mihany as a yearlingThree year-old Redoute's Choice colt Mihany jumped well and led throughout to beat his stablemate Firehouse Rock, a son of Fastnet Rock, both youngsters t rained by David Hayes and Tom Dabernig.

Both colts were making their debut, with Mihany the more fancied, but the strong finish of Firehouse Rock suggests his turn to win won't be far away.

The winner Mihany, was a $600,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell Australia from the Cressfield draft and is the ninth winner from nine foals to race from terrific producer Snowdrift (Fr).

A placed half-sister to the dam of Group I winner and Group I producing sire Myboycharlie (IRE), Snowdrift has left Group I winner Snowland, Group II winner Portillo, stakes-winner Snippetson and stakes-placed Freeze and Snowden.

Now 20 years old, Snowdrift will be without foal this spring after missing to Fastnet Rock and has a yearling colt by the same sire.

The runner-up to Mihany, Firehouse Rock was the sale-topper at the 2013 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale when fetching $450,000.

He is the first foal of Group II winner Bird of Fire, who was a winner up to 2000 metres, so can be expected to appreciate further as he progresses.
