Lonhro
finished 2013/ 2014 as the leading sire of Australian winners setting a new
record with his tally of 159 and among them was one winner who promises to be a
spring star for Godolphin.
Much hyped colt Sarajevo was given a little send along at the Randwick trials
on Friday morning, stretching his legs to win a strong 840 metre trial
featuring numerous stakes horses by a length and a half in 49.76 seconds.
Prepared by John O'Shea and ridden by James McDonald, Sarajevo looks to be primed
for his return with the Group I ATC Golden Rose an obvious early target.
Sarajevo looked well above average at his only run when winning easily at
Randwick back in April and has only to run up to his looks and impressive
international pedigree to become a star!
A half-brother to minor stakes-winner Ludka, Sarajevo is from the unraced
Danehill mare Laleta (IRE), a half-sister to Group I Irish Oaks winner Lailani.
